How can we launch our first flagship event?

The challenge

A UK children’s charity wanted to launch a flagship fundraising event but were struggling to pin down the details. We ran a creative project that helped the charity ideate, agree on, and move forward with a flagship event concept.

What we did

  • 8 semi-structured stakeholder interviews across fundraising, brand & marketing, community, and c-suite

  • Design and facilitation of a 1 day workshop that included an audience empathy ‘pre-work’ task

  • Design and copywriting of facebook ads for use in a smokescreen test of the final concept

Output

  • Stakeholder interview playback report - what we heard and what this means for the project

  • The creative workshop brief - a one page document defining the goal of the workshop (to generate 2 scalable event concepts)

  • A custom workshop and Miro board

  • Workshop summary report - 64 ideas, 9 high-level concepts, 3 detailed concepts, and 1 winning concept

  • 2 Facebook ads - compelling creative to support early stage concept testing

Outcome

  • An agreed upon event concept to take into development and pilot

  • Engaged teams in functions that will support event delivery

  • Concept ‘brought to life’ with compelling creative

  • Built consensus and a clear direction
